Taste of Portugal Wine Dinner

This special Portuguese dining event will feature both wines and gourmet olive oils produced by Quinta do Paral, a boutique winery in Vidigueira, Alentejo region of Portugal. Christel Gaillard, brand ambassador for Quinta do Paral will guide guests through a tasting journey featuring Herrold’s six-course culinary experience. Learn about this winemaking region and taste authentic dishes that complement each wine.

Guests will sample gourmet Olive Oils from Quinta do Paral and sip a welcome Sangria before dinner, which features:
·Octopus and Shrimp Salad paired with an Estate Branco 2021. This balanced white wine conveys the aroma of tropical fruits, pineapple and the fresh burst of tangerine.
·Caldo Verde, or Portuguese Green Soup, paired with Colheita Seleccionada Branco 2019. This is a tropical balanced white blend.
·Roasted Carrots and Chouriço, paired with an Estate Tinto 2021. This wine is characterized by subtle vanilla notes, black pepper and berry flavors.
·Arroz de Marisco with clams, mussels, cod and shrimp, paired with Reserva Branco 2018. This blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are ripe and full-bodied with a smooth texture.
·Iberian Pork and Potato, paired with Reserva Tinta 2017. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Alicante Bouschet and Marselan is known for notes of vanilla, oak, blackberry and red fruit.
·Pastel de Nata, a Portuguese egg custard tart pastry, paired with Casa de Santa Barbara White Port, a winery that dates back to 1918 in Douro. Like its red counterparts, this white port is a fortified wine.
